About MobiNet

IT that feels less like a vendor and more like part of your team

Mobi Network Designs is a Canadian-owned managed IT services provider built for small and medium businesses that need enterprise-grade technology without an enterprise-sized IT department.

Mobi Network Designs was founded in 2002, offering dedicated hosting — website hosting, DNS, and email — on real production infrastructure for real customers from day one. What began as a focused set of hosting services grew steadily, and by 2007 the scale and scope of what we were building and running had grown into a full operation in its own right. The through-line across more than two decades is a straightforward one: we started as a Canadian hosting and cloud company, and that’s exactly what we are today — just doing considerably more.

We do something most providers don’t: we own the whole stack. We run our own data centre here in Canada, design and support our own software, deploy the networks, manage the security, and answer the phone when your staff need help. When you work with us, you’re not coordinating five vendors — you’re working with one Canadian team that understands how every piece of your environment fits together, and your data never leaves Canadian jurisdiction.

What drives us

Technology should make your business easier to run, not harder. Our job is to handle the complexity quietly in the background — keeping systems secure, available, and ready to grow — so the people in your business can get on with their work. We also stay deliberately ahead of where technology is heading. We’re hands-on with the tools shaping the next decade — including AI — so we can give our clients honest, practical guidance instead of hype, and help them adopt new technology safely and on their own terms.

Experience that runs deep

Behind the services is real expertise built over decades, and two credentials in particular are unusual for a provider of this size. Our principal has 25 years of Fibre Channel and iSCSI enterprise storage experience — selling, installing, and supporting the storage arrays that high-availability systems are built on. Earlier in that career, he planned, built, and deployed a highly redundant email infrastructure serving 350,000 student and staff accounts at a major institution. When uptime and resilience aren’t optional and the stakes are measured in hundreds of thousands of users, you build habits that stay with you. That instinct for infrastructure that holds up under pressure shapes how MobiNet is built and run today.

The people behind the work

The team reflects the same long-term orientation. Our senior network lead brings 20+ years of networking experience and has been part of the MobiNet team since around 2007 — meaning our clients work with someone who has been here nearly two decades, not whoever we could hire last month. That continuity matters: when something goes wrong, you reach people who know the history of your environment, not just the ticket. Our support specialist brings 20+ years of top-tier, customer-facing IT experience, with a genuine soft touch that is genuinely rare in this industry — the kind of approach that treats your staff as capable adults who deserve a clear answer, not a script. It’s the opposite of the condescending-IT-guy stereotype, and it’s the reason the “local, in-house team, no offshore call centers” point we make is more than a marketing line.

Who we work with

We support organizations across a range of sizes and industries, from professional services firms to large manufacturing operations. Our longest manufacturing engagement spans 17 years and three facilities — over 400,000 square feet of converged networking where office systems, plant-floor automation, video, and voice all run on one engineered infrastructure. Whether you have five employees or five hundred, the principle is the same: reliable technology, real support, no surprises.

A partner you can rely on

Trusting a provider with your infrastructure means trusting that they’ll still be standing — and accountable — if something goes wrong. We operate as a fully insured, properly established business: we carry commercial liability and cyber liability insurance, maintain WSIB coverage for our team, and run the way a serious long-term partner should.
